AskMyCoach

Hey, I'm Iaroslav.

I'm 16, living and training in Charleston, SC, and I go to AMHS. I've been swimming since I was 8, racing triathlons since 11, and for the past couple of years I've also been competing in cross country and track & field.

Oh - and my name is Iaroslav Abramov. Initials: I.A. Flip them around and you get A.I. Probably not a coincidence that I ended up building something with it.

Where This Came From

A while back I got really into the data side of training - how the numbers you collect can actually change what you do in a session. I'd been watching it pile up in Strava and TrainingPeaks and kept thinking there had to be a better way to actually use it, especially now that AI tools are good enough to work with it directly.

That led me to a project I call ai.powered.athlete - a set of detailed prompts for cycling, running, and swimming that cover training context, technique, nutrition, and how an AI should work with a specific athlete. I built it from my own training data and a lot of reading. It's not ready to share publicly yet, but it's what made me realize the bigger problem: getting the AI connected to live data in the first place.

To do any of this well, the AI needs actual access to your training data - not a copy-paste of last week's summary, but a live connection to the real numbers. That's what AskMyCoach does. It connects Intervals.icu - one of the best training platforms out there, and completely free - to any AI assistant that supports MCP tools.

I originally built AskMyCoach to share with my teammates. Once it was working for us, I figured it would be useful for other triathletes too - so I opened it up. It's free because I want it to be accessible, the same way Intervals.icu is.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

One person. I build and maintain this on my own, alongside school and training. My dad helps with the bigger technical decisions and things I haven't run into before - that's been really useful. Updates happen regularly but things can be slow sometimes - that's just how it is.

No data stored. AskMyCoach doesn't store your workout data. Every request goes directly to Intervals.icu and comes right back. I only store the credentials needed to make the connection work.

Free. The service is free. I'm a 16-year-old student, not a startup. 馃帗

Open to feedback. If something doesn't work, or you have an idea for a tool that would actually be useful, I want to hear it.
