Sport-Specific Knowledge
Built Into Your AI
Skills are structured knowledge modules that teach your AI assistant how to coach, plan workouts, and analyse training — using your actual zones and data from Intervals.icu. They're free with every AskMyCoach account.
How Skills Work
Install once
Download a .skill file from AskMyCoach (or via the MCP tool) and add it to Claude Desktop or Claude.ai. Takes about 30 seconds.
AI loads it automatically
When you ask for a bike workout or to analyse a run, the AI recognises the request and loads the right skill — no manual prompting needed.
Personalised to you
Skills always read zones, thresholds, and limits from your athlete profile. Generic advice is replaced by numbers that are actually yours.

Triathlon Coach
coachingtriathlon-coachUniversal triathlon coaching logic — session start, training plan, load management, race prep, taper, periodization.
The core coaching brain. Combine with an athlete profile skill to get fully personalised advice. Covers CTL/ATL management, HRV-based load decisions, race-week protocol, and recovery rules. Triggered automatically by any coaching or training-plan request.
Activity Analysis
analysisactivity-analysisStructured post-workout analysis with interval breakdown, metric ratings, and concrete next-session recommendations.
Fetches activity details, interval data, and time-series streams, then runs a standardised analysis: summary table, per-interval breakdown, and takeaways. Ratings use a ✅/⚠️/🔴 scale vs. plan. Sport-specific rules for cycling (NP, IF, decoupling), running (HR, pace, cadence), and swimming (stroke rate, DPS, swolf).
Athlete Profile
profileathlete-templatePersonalised athlete skill with zones, thresholds, HRV baselines, gear, and coaching rules — the memory layer for every AI session.
Each athlete gets their own profile skill generated from live Intervals.icu data. It stores power zones, pace zones, HRV thresholds, pool type, gear, medical limits, and injury notes. The AI loads it at the start of every session so coaching is always based on that athlete's actual numbers — not generic advice. Generated automatically by the Generate Athlete Profile MCP tool.
Bike Workout
workoutbike-workoutCreates structured cycling workouts in Intervals.icu format using power zones from the athlete profile.
Handles the full workout creation workflow: zone targeting, interval structure, warm-up/cool-down, and Intervals.icu JSON format. Supports ERG-mode structured intervals, free-ride sessions, and race simulations. Power zones and HR limits are always pulled from the athlete profile — never hardcoded.
Run Workout
workoutrun-workoutCreates structured running workouts using pace and HR zones from the athlete profile.
Covers all run types: easy aerobic, tempo, threshold intervals, race-pace work, and long runs. Formats workouts for Intervals.icu with correct sport type, zone targets, and notes. Pace and HR limits are pulled from the athlete profile — no guessing.
Swim Workout
workoutswim-workoutCreates structured swim workouts with correct pool/OW format, pace zones, and stroke cues.
Handles pool length (25yd / 25m / 50m) and open-water sessions. Structures sets with rest intervals in the correct Intervals.icu format. Pace zones, target stroke rate, and DPS goals come from the athlete profile. Supports drill sets, technique focus, and race-pace blocks.
Strength & Gym
workoutstrength-workoutCreates strength, gym, and dryland sessions with phase-appropriate loading (AA / MT / MS / SM).
Generates periodized strength sessions aligned to the athlete's training phase — anatomical adaptation, maximum strength, muscular endurance, or sport-specific maintenance. Exercises, sets, reps, and load come from the athlete profile and periodization plan. Also handles core, plyometrics, and dryland swim work.
Triathlon Nutrition
nutritiontriathlon-nutritionCalculates macros, builds daily meal plans, and logs food — respecting the athlete's medical limits and training load.
Covers macro calculation (kcal, carbs, protein, fat) scaled to training load, daily meal planning, supplement timing, and weight management. Medical limits and food preferences from the athlete profile are treated as hard constraints — never overridden. Integrates with the Wellness logging tool to push nutrition data back to Intervals.icu.
Generate Your Athlete Profile Automatically
The athlete profile skill is the most important one — it gives every other skill your actual zones, thresholds, and personal rules. Instead of filling in a template manually, AskMyCoach can generate it for you from live Intervals.icu data in one command.
Takes about 60 seconds. Training zones, HRV thresholds, periodization phase, and race schedule are all pulled automatically.
